Had a great time recording this episode of The Principal Podcast with John Degnan, where I broke down why culture is not about perks or pizza Fridays but creating the conditions where great work naturally happens.
One of the biggest lessons from my work in organisational psychology is that leadership is not a person, it’s a process.
The best organisations intentionally shape the behaviors, systems, and environments that allow people to thrive long after the leader leaves the room.
Here are three ideas I shared that I believe every business leader should think about:
🐝 Culture is not about making people happy, it’s about creating the behaviors that make success more likely.
🐝 Most resistance to AI and change is not about technology, it’s about people protecting their identity and place within the tribe.
🐝 High performance is a byproduct of clarity, trust, and intentional environments, not control or hierarchy.
This conversation goes deep into leadership, AI adoption, and why businesses have a responsibility to return people to their families in a better condition than when they arrived.
