Today is International Firgun Day.
Most people won’t have heard of firgun.
It’s a Hebrew word that describes something we could all do with a little more of: taking genuine pleasure in someone else’s success, without envy or expectation.
It also happens to be the name of my consultancy.
Not because I wanted an unusual business name, but because it captures something I genuinely believe. Organisations don’t become stronger by creating more stars. They become stronger when people celebrate, encourage and elevate one another.
Great work deserves to be recognised, whoever created it.
So today, rather than liking this post, I’d like to ask you to do something else.
⭕ Stop Scrolling ⭕
Think of one person who has done something worth recognising recently.
Leave them a recommendation on LinkedIn.
Send them a voice note.
Write a review.
Introduce them to someone.
Simply tell them, “You did a great job.”
Be someone’s cheerleader today.
Success grows far more easily in environments where people celebrate each other than where they compete for attention.
Happy International Firgun Day!
