This basketball player just won the opposing team’s fans FREE chicken.
I love Boban Marjanović.
Even if you’re not a basketball fan, you would love him too.
In a game where scores regularly exceed 120 points, he averages close to just 5 points.
Despite being 7-foot 4-inches, he spends most of the game on the bench.
Some critics argue that he doesn’t contribute to performance and there are more talented players that are unable to make a team in the NBA, as there’s a limit to the number of teams and players per team.
And Boban is holding up a place, with his pitiful scoring, rebounding and on-court KPIs.
But they’re missing the point.
A great team has many roles to be filled.
Houston already have players that can score. And rebound. And defend.
Boban is the heart of the team.
His energy is infectious.
Not only in his own team, but with opponents and fans all over the US and wider.
Last night, Houston played in LA.
The LA Clippers have a stadium rule that, if a player misses two free throws in the last quarter, the Clipper’s fans get free chicken from Chick-Fil-A.
Boban missed the first.
Then started talking to the crowd.
“I’ve got you. You want free chicken? Can I get some of that free chicken?”
Then he intentionally missed.
Now, this is likely against the rules.
Boban is probably going to get a fine from the league.
But I urge you to Google the video and tell me that’s not a great team player does.
They know their role, and they execute it to perfection. Consistently.
And everyone reaps the goodies.
