I do what I do because I know what it’s like to not fit in.
I help to create places where people can play to their strengths.
Where all can contribute purposefully, without fear of ridicule or reprimand.
Where you can be you.

Those others aren’t competition; they’re helping my cause.
In competition, someone wins and someone loses.
This isn’t that. I see it as rivalry.
Rivals challenge each other.
Their strengths teach me to up my game. They show my blindspots.
And my strengths, hopefully, challenge them to improve theirs.
Together, rivals pull the best out of each other.
Iron sharpens iron.
So if you’re serious about inclusion – about helping individuals and teams play to their unique strengths – then keep doing it.
You’re challenging me and you’re making the world that little bit better.
