Is anyone a fan of this trend?
Isn’t it a bit odd to have values on the walls in your home, or is it just me?
“Billy. We don’t behave like that here. [Points at chimney breast]. Now give your sister back the teddybear.”

Do the homes adorned with these statements really live more, laugh more or love more?
Do they make the slightest bit of difference?
Or, perhaps, are they aspirational?
Are they in homes that would like more life, love and laughter?
Does hanging them (or having coffee coasters, bed linen or photo frames) encourage this aspiration to be realised?
Or are they just decorative?
To me, they look like organisational values in your home.
The words behind reception.
The statements in your employee handbook.
The (often empty) promises of how we do things around here.
Values are lived, not laminated.
And we don’t need scatter cushions to tell us how we really get things done around here.
