Don’t ask your writer friends for free copies or “mate’s rates” discounts on their book.
Whilst I appreciate that £13.99 might feel a lot to spend on a paperback, I also think people should be aware that many authors PAY to have their books printed.
For example, a book purchased via Amazon costs around £5 to print.
So, a £13.99 book gets split between author and Amazon (c£7ea), and then I pay for printing out of my share of the balance.
Trust me: No one is getting rich from selling books!
Writing a book is never about the money.
It might be about building credibility, use as an introduction or spreading a message. But not revenue.
If you want to support your writer friends, buying their book at full price is the most passive way you can help.
But if you really want to support them:
⭐ Buy their book for someone else
⭐ Buy their book and leave a written review
⭐ Buy their book and like/share/evangelise about it
⭐ Buy their book and use it to introduce them to someone
Thank you to everyone that has supported me and Constellation.
A particular thank you to the three specific friends that have bought multiple copies (double figures) for their teams and connections.
You are heroes.
Thank you.
