The word “culture” comes from the Latin “colere”, meaning “to cultivate”.
Every farmer knows how to cultivate a range of crops in a range of conditions and environments – and we could learn much from being more farmer:
- Don’t shout at the crops
- Don’t blame the crops for not growing fast enough
- Dont uproot the crops before they’ve had chance to grow
- Choose the best plants for the soil
- Irrigate and fertilise
- Remove weeds
- Remember: You will have good seasons and bad seasons. You can’t control the weather; you can only be prepared for it
