Who’s the leader of The A-Team?
We might argue that it’s Hannibal.
He does love when a plan comes together.
But I don’t think it is.
I don’t think they have a leader.
There’s an episode in the first series where Hannibal is kidnapped.
The team utilise their individual skills (Murdoch believes himself to be invisible, which is pivotal to the success) and he’s rescued.
So Hannibal isn’t the leader. At least, not always.
The team have an eclectic mix of skills, approaches and personalities – none of which are suitable for every mission.
There’s some friction between characters – but it doesn’t disrupt the delivery of a goal. Sometimes, it results in that goal’s achievement.
That’s Constellation Leadership and the power of culture.
It’s not about hierarchy or everyone getting along.
It’s about creating the conditions where everyone – even invisible people – can play to their strengths and help the team succeed.
That’s the power of the right culture for your A-Team.
