“There’s a war for talent”
No there isn’t. Talent is just seeing through your historical employee engagement façade.
Installing standing desks, having a cycle2work scheme or free fruit Fridays no longer cut it when we claim we “we put the employee at the heart of everything we do.”
That genie is out of the bottle, and:
🐝 Talent knows that it can often be possible to work remotely
🐝 Talent knows that it can add value in non-traditional working hours
🐝 Talent knows that it can find employers that have purpose
Organisations have been slow to adapt to the world that Covid has shown is possible.
Or, worse, have adapted during lockdowns, then claimed it’s no longer possible to be flexible – damaging trust between employer and employee.
And now we have a choice:
🐝 Invest in hashtag#employerbrand, hashtag#EVP and hashtag#culture strategies; or
🐝 Carry on and hope we return to the way things were
Which will we choose?
