Using only financial incentives for motivation is like only using fast food for nutrition.
[Them] “We need performance to increase, so we’ve introduced an incentive.”
[Me] “Lovely. How are you planning for a sustainable performance increase?”
Incentives are great.
But they’re not a silver bullet for performance or results.
It might work in the short-term.
But it’s lack of all-round sustenance and nutrition will start to leave us hungry and bored.
Long-term performance needs a balanced diet.
And, like any diet, it also has to be right for you and what you want to achieve.
That’s how we build sustainable performance.
It’s small steps in the every day experience.
Strategically; purposefully; intentionally.
Otherwise, we’re just having a one-off salad or gym session and expecting to be fit the next day.
And we’ve all done that before…
