Why is it sometimes a messy break-up?
The days of a “job for life” have long gone and leaving is a natural part of any organisation. So why do we seem to get it so wrong so often?
Leaving needs a rethink.
My opinion?
We can learn much from universities and how they approach their leavers.
Universities:
🐝 Stay connected and support their leavers after they’ve left
🐝 Champion their leavers’ successes – even years after they’ve left
🐝 Invite leavers back to share their experiences
They recognise that their role is in creating future success – even if those individuals’ successes are not within the university system itself.
Can you imagine a world where organisations treated their leavers similarly?
Organisational alumni.
