How does personality affect your Valentine’s Day?
Let’s take a look at each of the Five Factor Model dimensions:
⬇️ Low – The Traditionalist:
Chocolates. Roses. A steak dinner. “They’re a classic for a reason”
⬆️ High – The Adventurous Romantic:
An unconventional date. Perhaps a couples’ cookery class, art-making event or a handwritten poem
⬇️ Low – The Last-Minute Lover:
Forgets about the day until on way home from work. Goes with the flow, grabbing a card and whatever is leftover for a gift. “She’ll have probably arranged something anyway.”
⬆️ High – The Thoughtful Planner
Buys a gift well in advance. Has planned the perfect evening, with a reservation and taxi already booked.
⬇️ Low – The Low-Key Romantic
A quiet, intimate evening for just the two of you. Little chance of public displays of affection, but shows they care in small, thoughtful ways.
⬆️ High – The Social Butterfly
A big Valentine’s party or even a double date, with expression of love through grand gestures. Flash mob for love anyone?
⬇️ Low – The Skeptical Partner
“Valentine’s is just a commercialised gimmick created by card companies.” Might participate out of obligation rather than enthusiasm.
⬆️ High – The Devoted Sweetheart
Focused entirely on making their partner happy, cooking their favourite meal or writing a letter. Prioritises emotional connection and making them feel special and loved.
⬇️ Low – The Chill Valentine
Completely relaxed and not stressed over finding the perfect gift. Doesn’t get caught up in the expectations or pressure. “It’s just another day.”
⬆️ High – The Overthinker
Worries excessively about what their partner might think of their gift and thought that went into the day. Might over-apologise if something goes wrong or is perceived as not quite right.
Happy Valentine’s Day!
